WRTL Exterior Lighting's new Zone 2 Arc road lighting lantern has been fully BASEEFA EEx 'n' certified for ATEX Group II Category 3 G D Zone 2 and 22 Hazardous Areas; it is available in the UK exclusively through MacLean Electrical. The WRTL Zone 2 Arc is the first purpose built road lantern to bring the high efficiency, low maintenance and light technical performance of modern road lighting to Hazardous Area applications; it is also ideal for marine locations. The 70W to 400W Zone 2 Arc will help reduce the light pollution that characterises many petrochemical, industrial and other hazardous area complexes, where floodlighting unsuitable for road applications was previously the only solution. A further advantage is that the standard Arc road lantern can be installed on adjoining roads to provide complete continuity.
The WRTL Zone 2 Arc is available in the UK exclusively through the highly respected specialist hazardous area electrical distributors MacLean Electrical. MacLean Electrical, which has seven strategically located outlets in industrial complexes across Scotland and England as well as USA and Middle East, will offer a full support service for Zone 2 Arc.
The WRTL Zone 2 Arc is suitable for lamps between 70W and 400W in SON-T as well as compatible CDO-TT lamps. The lantern can be mounted from 5 metres to 30 metres high, including on high mast installations.
The Zone 2 Arc's high performance optics offer excellent uniformity, and can be 'tuned' to achieve specific light distributions and cut-off patterns, a key factor in any lighting scheme design. This would help alleviate environmental concerns about excessive light spill around petrochemical and industrial sites, and could assist in future planning of residential and industrial areas.
The Zone 2 Arc has been upgraded for hazardous area certification from the highly popular Arc highway and street lantern. The Arc has distinguished itself in recent applications such as the relighting of Newcastle and North Tyneside and the M8.
The Zone 2 Arc has double ingress protection with the entire marine grade aluminium body sealed to IP 66, with the optic sealed separately. It is thus completely suited to exposed and marine environments and, to avoid any potential build-up of condensation, the lantern incorporates controlled breathing technology (CBT). Arc is almost completely recyclable (except for the neoprene gasket) so complying with WEEE requirements.
