Megaman Launches World's Smallest CFL

Megaman Launches World's Smallest CFL
Liliput compact fluorescent lamps from Megaman are the World's smallest energy saving lamps, making them ideal for a wide range of applications where a discrete light source in a compact fitting is required. Available with B22, E14 & E27 bases, they are particularly suitable for retrofitting to luminaires originally designed for GLS lamps.

They can also be combined with Megaman's compact 7W candle lamps for use in decorative fittings, providing the capability to produce a versatile and energy efficiency home lighting scheme.

Offering a remarkably high lumen output, Liliput SLU Series lamps are available in wattages from 5W, 8w, 11& 14W and currently have a 10,000 hour life.soon to be increased to 15,000 hours. The 5W, 200 lumen lamp has a diameter of just 34mm diameter and is 83.5mm long.

A particular feature of the lamps is the specially designed, integral lamp tube protector, which is inserted between the arcs of the tubes to ensure there is no direct contact between the surfaces of the tubes. In this way, Megaman has overcome the fragility problems previously associated with conventional ultra-compact energy saving lamps, where the tubes are located close together.

Also available from the Liliput range is the WL Series of higher output lamps in wattages from 20W to 30W, with outputs ranging from 1371 lm to 1900 lm. WL lamps are available with B22 or E27 bases and are also ideal for replacing GLS lamps.

Megaman's 7W compact fluorescent candle lamps incorporate a silicone sleeve over the glass envelope, making these innovative lamps the first safety energy saving lamps in the world. The silicone sleeve acts as a safety shield against flying glass, in the event of the lamp being shattered. In addition, it prevents the mercury from the lamp escaping into the environment before the lamp is disposed of properly.

A further benefit is that the sleeve replaces traditional frosting methods, which use non-environmentally friendly etching techniques to create a frosty appearance.
