The new Indigo luminaire range from Fagerhult Lighting unites energy efficiency and good lighting to create comfortable glare-free environments. The range will be launched in the Fagerhult Light Studio in London on Tuesday 22nd February 2005.
The light distribution of the Indigo luminaire system offers stimulating and ergonomically correct lighting where technical performance is very important. With the help of large scale secondary reflectors, bright and comfortable moods can be created in any room.
Most luminaires of this type produce a sharp gradient between the light inside the luminaire and the suspended ceiling. To reduce this gradient, the recessed luminaires in this range feature Soft-Frame, which has a soft transition at the intersection between the suspended ceiling and secondary reflector. The Indigo range has been designed to match several different types of suspended ceilings and Soft-Frame gives the luminaires a more gentle visual impact.
The efficiency of the luminaires is increased through the use of Beta louvres made from satin matt metallized MIRO aluminium. This material reflects up to 95 percent of light and has a reduced environmental impact. The Beta louvre, a double parabolic louvre with side reflectors and cross blades, is mechanically designed to give maximum efficiency and controlled light distribution.
The range includes four products; Indigo Dual, Indigo Combo, Indigo Clivus, and Indigo Ed2.
Indigo Dual is a recessed luminaire with a suspended secondary reflector which throws incidental light on the surrounding ceiling. In addition the Beta louvre provides strong direct lighting, and the end caps house opal diffusers, giving a balanced distribution in the room. Dual is available in square and rectangular designs, and without exceeding 1000cd/m2 at a 65 degree angle, conforms to the European standard EN 12464-1. Dual uses T5 lamps in wattages 14, 24, 28 and 54.
Indigo Combo, also recessed comes in square and rectangular designs and in two sizes with one and two louvre cells and up to four light sources. The Beta louvre can be combined with indirect light distribution in the secondary reflector. Unique control on the indirect light is provided by a lined diffuser that distributes the secondary light and gives a balanced luminance in the reflector, and can be finished in several different colours as a decorative option. Combo uses T5 lamps in wattages 14, 24, 28 and 54.
Indigo Clivus is a surface mounted luminaire with unique wings that give it a striking visual expression. The wings provide smooth light distribution and the beta louvre conforms to the requirements of a glare free luminaire. Clivus can be installed on different types of suspended ceilings or one piece ceilings and uses T5 lamps in wattages 14, 24, 28 and 54.
Ed2 is a recessed luminaire with predominantly indirect light distribution and is available with both T5 and compact fluorescent lamps. There are two louvre options; Perfo with a perforated pattern and Slits with lateral slots, framed by a partly perforated area, both available with one or two louvre cells.
