Thorn has extended the Mica "drive-over" range of luminaires with the addition of a new, shallower version. With a depth of 175-195mm, the Mica Slim series is up to 60 per cent slimmer than the existing models, which eases installation and extends usage. Two types of luminaire are available; one for accent lighting fitted with a tiltable or asymmetric optic and the other for guidance using domed windows or frosted front glasses to screen the light source. Such choice makes this range ideal for not only lighting trees and buildings, but also marking walkways and entrances too.
The circular in-ground luminaire takes five lamp types, including LEDs, is supplied pre-wired and employs electronic gear. Three sizes are available with diameters from 113 to 235mm. All are sealed to IP67, cool to the touch (<80°C) and constructed of die cast aluminium with polypropylene housings.
The Mica range compliments the company's existing line of walk-over E/Fact Slim fittings.
