The handrail light is a 24Volts DC fitting and runs from dedicated switch mode power supplies. Which are also manufactured and supplied by PLM Illumination. It is easy to install, requires no maintenance, and extremely durable.
As PLM switch mode power supplies are universal voltage input, the system is suitable for installation any where in the world.
At 24Volts DC, the handrail light in inherently safe and obviates the need for mains voltage cables inside metal handrails. As part of PLM policy for innovation and constant improvement, we will be introducing the next generation of Uniled™ handrail lights which contain even brighter LEDs, with no increase in power consumption. Along with upgrading the shell material from UV stable poly-carbonate to transparent nylon. Independent laboratory tests have shown that transparent nylon has far superior through life impact resistant to poly-carbonate. It is also clearer and stays clear for longer. It has better resistant to the kind of environment that our handrail lights are deployed than poly-carbonates.
Over the last five years, our handrail lights have been deployed in projects across the United Kingdom. These locations include Blackpool Seafront, Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham, London, as well as Torquay where the lighting has been installed along the harbour and across the marina bridge.
