Officelyte Takes the Air... and Gains New Controls

Officelyte Takes the Air... and Gains New Controls
When the innovative Concord Officelyte luminaire range was launched in 2006, it broke the mould of office lighting. Its louvre-less solution of light-transmitting prismatic ‘wings', offered an entirely new tool to help designers comply with LG7. Now, a number of new extensions have been introduced to the Officelyte range, including Officelyte 500, Officelyte Air Handling and a new dimming and monitoring control unit.

Officelyte 500, much like its larger family member, offers an office lighting solution that aids in compliance with an LG7 lighting scheme. Officelyte 500 has been added to the range to extend the offering to metric/ 500x500mm building grids using 36W TC-L Lamp and despite its smaller appearance, offers a more efficient Light Output Ratio (LOR). Much like Officelyte 600, the 500 is available in emergency, dimmable and dimmable emergency versions.

The new Officelyte Air Handling, as a 600x600mm version, allows the luminaires to be integrated into a building's ventilation system, resulting in installation savings and less cluttered ceilings. Officelyte's primary air-handling capacity comprises of four air grilles inserted along the luminaire case, to provide inlets to the negative plenum. These enable 20 litres/sec of extracted air to be recycled or expelled.

The Officelyte body also has an optional eight knock-out tabs, each of which allows an additional 2.5 litres/sec of air to be extracted through the luminaire body. This allows each fitting to pass between 20 to 40 litres/sec of air, depending on the precise configuration. The four separate air chambers ensure that the returned air is kept well away from the lamps, reducing the risk of lamp cooling and loss of efficiency and light output. To prevent dust from building up inside the luminaire, the new Officelyte air pockets can be easily removed and washed in soapy water, to maintain the luminaire's LOR.

Lastly, Concord has introduced Officelyte MC Master Control -- a new master luminaire, with a smartDIM SM Ip control unit, which can control up to 25 digital dimmable ballasts. The unit has an integral smartDIM sensor, with both a passive infra-red motion detector and light sensor, for maximum energy savings.

The new improved Officelyte range from Concord – the mould-busting office lighting system just got even smarter.
