Continuum from Concord:marlin is a uniquely clean, simple lighting system offering continuous, highly uniform lines of light across walls and ceilings. Suitable for offices, meeting rooms, corridors, education facilities, museums and libraries, this highly versatile lighting tool can be recessed, semi-recessed, surface-mounted or suspended, either vertically or horizontally. Furthermore, its neat U-shaped aluminium extrusion can be supplied with a totally trim-less edge detail for the most minimalist of interiors. Continuum houses slim T5 HE or HO fluorescent lamps in a range of wattages (14, 21, 28 and 35W in HE and 24, 39, 54 and 80W in HO). Within the luminaire body, the T5 battens are arranged in a staggered formation, with overlapping cathodes, to create a totally uniform line of light with no shadows – and the satin opal diffuser offers superb light diffusion, with no dark spots. Two internal white reflectors within the body optimise light output, to increase system efficiency and further reduce the likelihood of visible shadowing.
Continuum's 120mm deep profile is available in two versions: one with an outside trim detail for use in plasterboard ceilings, to hide rough cut-out edges; and a trim-less version for interiors where a minimal, seamless effect is required. Both extrusions are pre-cut to one of six module lengths, ranging from 480mm to 4140mm, which can be butted cleanly together to create light lines of virtually any length to within 300mm. A dummy extrusion section, with a white ceiling plate, can be cut to length on site, to fill any end gaps.
Each T5 batten is supplied with a plug-and-socket arrangement for easy and rapid electrical installation. Switch Dim/DSI dimmable versions and 3-hour maintained integral emergency options are available as standard options.
