TridonicAtco Takes Presence Control to a New Dimension with corridorFUNCTION

TridonicAtco Takes Presence Control to a New Dimension with corridorFUNCTION
The new corridorFUNCTION from TridonicAtco takes presence controlled lighting to a new dimension utilising standard, low cost components. Standard presence detectors and luminaires with PCA T5 ECO lp and PCA T5 EXCEL one4all lp control gear is all that is required to provide presence-controlled lighting which is particularly suitable for corridors in healthcare facilities where there is little or no natural daylight.

Particularly energy efficient and economical, the corridorFUNCTION negates the need for a separate controller by utilising the switchDIM input terminal. It can be programmed not to switch off when the space is vacated, as would be the case with non-dimmable control gear, but dim to a lower light level. It can then be switched off automatically after a preset delay.
The corridorFUNCTION makes intelligent use of motion sensors. If line voltage is applied, this function is detected by the units, which then automatically set themselves to operating mode. There is no need for luminaire rewiring or any reprogramming. The corridorFUNCTION enables the use of any number of presence detectors and luminaires to be connected in parallel.

For hospitals, lighting levels of 200 lux are required for daylight illumination and 50 lux at night. By adding a conventional motion sensor, without any additional controller, the corridorFUNCTION provides high levels of safety and security around the clock whilst saving a considerable amount of energy. This means that areas where artificial lights are in use at all times can be simply controlled and yet well lit.
