A young Scandinavian designer has created what he says is the UK's first interchangable illuminated 'wall art' for display in bars, restaurants, hotels and the home.Mika Rinta–Suksi, originally from Finland and now living in the West Midlands, came up with the idea for the innovative Lighting Boards when looking for flexible lighting for his own home, but found there was nothing available in the UK that could create the subtle visual effects he wanted.
The shared key features of the Lighting Boards range are:
- Combine lighting and wall art in one interior design product
- Create attractive glow with no glare, and usable with dimmer.
- Easily interchangable front facias to alter the shape and light pattern
- Straightforward fixing, fitted in minutes
Mika Rinta-Suksi, creator and designer of Lighting Boards, said: "Until Lighting Boards, there were very few traditional lighting products also designed to be a real focal point of the room. Lighting Boards create a fabulous diffused effect, throwing light on any wall with no harsh glare."
"We Scandinavians are famous for creating clean, contemporary design, and Lighting Boards are designed to put that thinking into the heart of stylish British bars, restaurants and homes."
Lighting Boards are also designed to be affordable, with prices for the standard Boards starting at £120. There are currently nine styles of Lighting Boards, with more designs planned. Bespoke products can also be created as required.
