Foil is a new suspended luminaire system from Whitecroft Lighting that provides a solution to the problem of poor acoustics, often associated with solid ceilings, by the incorporation of acoustic panels. Designed for use with T5 lamps, Foil also utilises conduits to incorporate wiring for other electrical services and Whitecroft's unique Living Louvre. The Living Louvre is a vacuum metalised louvre blade that, unlike a conventional louvre blade, distributes light in multiple directions with a shimmer effect, whilst providing an illumination that is comfortable on the eye.
Foil addresses the environment issue of hiding additional electrical services in a solid ceiling environment with the incorporation of three cable channels; one for lighting and the other two for extra services. As a project specific special, the luminaire may also be modified to incorporate specific items such as smoke detectors and loud speakers. Although Foil is wide enough to house the acoustic material that reduces echo in solid ceiling applications, it has a slim, chamfered profile that minimises visual intrusion.
Although Whitecroft's expertise in designing luminaires specifically for Universities and City Academies has been used to engineer this product, it will also be infinitely suitable for use in other installations including offices, board rooms and conference facilities.
