Luxlift makes chandelier maintenance simple

Luxlift makes chandelier maintenance simple
Luxlift from Panasonic Electric Works has rapidly become the standard control system where otherwise difficult-to-access lighting fixtures must be cleaned, maintained or have lamps changed.

With the addition of a 50kg unit, to the well established 12 & 20kg luxlift range, Panasonic Electric Works is now also able to accommodate the demands of lowering and raising a wide range of heavy, yet delicate, chandeliers and other lighting fixtures.

With governmental Health and Safety at Work regulations assuming an ever-increasing importance, the alternatives of using scaffolding, ladders or powered hoists, commonly known as 'cherry pickers' is increasingly being seen as impractical and even hazardous, for the human operator; for the fabric and structure of some buildings and not least for the building owner should some accident occur. In some buildings, such as hotels or banquet halls, the flooring may be such that it would not be able to support the damaging effect that scaffolding or a cherry picker could inflict.

The new 50kg unit has been designed for use in hotels, banquet halls, airport hangers, railway stations and other facilities with heavy lighting fixtures. It can lower the chandelier / lighting fixture at the push of a button, avoiding the need to have heavy or dangerously high working platforms. The building owner will be pleased by the opportunity of being able to maintain the designed lighting level within a very short time frame. The beauty and luster of installed chandeliers will be more easily and economically retained over many years in a safe manner.

The 50kg unit is supplied with an Auto-Stop Mechanism which stops the luxlift automatically if its' descent is interrupted or when it reaches floor level. There is a Safety Catch which is an additional precautionary feature.

All electrical connections are disconnected automatically by luxlift before the lighting fixture is lowered, ensuring maximum safety of even unskilled operators so that maintenance / re-lamping can be performed without risk of electric shock.

The 50kg luxlift is available in 15m or 6m types and has 5 separate lighting circuits. The new luxlift is designed for use in ambient temperature conditions of -15degC to +40degC.
