Launched this month by Multiload Technology are some newly developed rotary controls for the simple yet effective 0-10V analogue dimming of fluorescent and other analogue lighting schemes.New Multiload rotary controls are cleverly designed to fit behind MK GridPlus, Wandsworth and Forbes & Lomax switch plates and thus offer an exciting opportunity for advanced control of light sources from high quality switch plates.
Special circuitry allows the module to keep the brightness levels constant against temperature changes around the module, or if ballasts fail or are switched separately on and off.
Three series of rotary controls are introduced - the RPS, RPA and RPC series.
The RPS series has a 3-way mains terminal for on/off or changeover switching of the mains supply (up to 10A). It also has a well-separated 2-way low voltage terminal for 0-10V analogue control. Push-on/push-off action of the control knob switches the mains supply, while rotation of the control knob provides 2 wire 0-10V analogue control. Two versions of analogue control are available: RPS1 is for sink currents up to a single equivalent ballast, RPS2 is for between 2 and 20 equivalent ballasts.
The RPA series has only low voltage terminals and is for use with Multiload mains-switching actuators. Push-on/push-off action, switches the mains via the safe low voltage 0-10V analogue signal (to the actuator). Rotation of the control knob provides the same 2-wire analogue control options as the RPS series: versions RPA1 and RPA2.
The RPC series again has only low voltage terminals and has exactly the same functions as the RPA series. However it has an extra low voltage terminal for remote 2-way changeover low voltage signal switching of the actuator.
Both rotary control series are designed with easy access maximum and minimum brightness screwdriver presets for setting the dimming range covered by the rotary control.
