Vigilant hospital ward bedhead luminaires from Whitecroft Lighting are designed for use in areas where optimum lighting is required for both general circulation and patient reading and inspection requirements.A key feature of Vigilant is that all surfaces are curved and visible making these luminaires very easy to clean.
Each Vigilant luminaire uses two high output 54W T5 lamps with a profiled reflector to give good wall and ceiling illumination – as well as one 54W T5 lamp and curved reflector for patient reading and inspection. As such, Vigilant provides a completely independent bedhead lighting solution.
Separate dimming circuits allow circulation and reading illumination to be controlled independently of each other for selection of optimum lighting levels. This can be achieved locally or by the use of remote 'push control' spring-loaded dimming switches for controlling the lighting from one point in the ward nurse centre.
Removable profiled diffusers run almost the full length of the body to optimise light distribution, while the angle of the reading light ensures there is no glare to a patient in a bed opposite.
Mounted at approximately 2.0 metres above the floor level, Vigilant brings a modern architectural style to the hospital ward environment which complements Whitecroft's Medilight trunking solution for wards, using the same upper profile and diffuser.
Access to lamps and components has been made very easy to facilitate installation and maintenance.
