Cat's Eye from Megaman is a novel feature allowing lamps to release a soft afterglow after the event of a power failure or interruption so that rooms are not left in total darkness. The Cats Eye incorporates a specially fabricated, protective silicone sleeve that provides a soft light that lasts for around 60 minutes when the lamp has been switched off following 30 minutes of operation. The lamps are designed for use in a variety of applications where safety is paramount following power failure, such as hotel elevators, corridors, or office staircases. The silicone sleeve increases the life of the lamp whilst acting as a safety shield against glass segments should the lamp shatter. The lamps can also provide comfort within the home and are ideal in bedrooms for young children afraid of the dark or the elderly.
Cat's Eye is currently available on the Classic, Globe and CFL GX53 range of Megaman lamps, and will be applied on more of the range soon.
