Ex-Or, European leader in lighting management, has plenty to celebrate. This year marks the 20th year it has been in operation, and staff partied into the early hours in a luxury marquee in the grounds of its headquarters at Haydock.
The party mood at Ex-Or has been buoyed with the news that it is enjoying record sales for its innovative lighting controls and systems. Annual turnover for Ex-Or Holdings Ltd, which encompasses Inline (manufacturing) and Ex-Or (sales), is now more than £4.5 million following a 20 per cent year-on-year sales growth achieved over the past three years.
And 2004 marked the introduction of a bold new corporate identity for Ex-Or which is now finding its way to the company's products, corporate literature and signage.
Said Ex-Or managing director Neil Jones: "2004 has been a particularly exciting year for us. Our concentration on the very large refurbishment and newbuild projects, the development of new product ranges and the opening up of new export markets have all contributed to our success.
"But it is the quality and commitment of our staff that has made the main contribution to our achievements this year. We thought the most fitting way of recognising their commitment was by throwing a celebration party. With more than a hundred people attending, the only way to accommodate them was to erect a giant marquee in the grounds."
Now the company is looking forward to the next 20 years and plans to strengthen its message that the automatic elimination of unnecessary artificial lighting is one of the most cost effective ways that businesses can achieve energy cost saving targets.
