ARC 05 - A NEW LIGHTING SHOW FOR ARCHITECTS, DESIGNERS AND SPECIFIERS

ARC 05 - A NEW LIGHTING SHOW FOR ARCHITECTS, DESIGNERS AND SPECIFIERS
"A lighting show in London's Business Design Centre… If you read each word carefully the logic is obvious." Bob Bohannon, General Manager, Sill Lighting (UK)
A new architectural lighting show is being launched next February in London. Called "ARC 05 – the architectural, retail and corporate lighting show', it is the only lighting exhibition in the UK that is specifically targeted at architects, interior designers, lighting designers and specifiers. The show will be held at the Business Design Centre, Islington on February 14th and 15th and will also be supporting a two-day RIBA approved CPD programme and two-day forum in association with the LIF on LEDs and DALI.

RIBA approved CPD seminars

All seminars taking place during the exhibition will be RIBA approved CPD and will all be related to lighting topics for architects. There are a number of lighting related CPD seminars available, ranging from office and retail lighting to LEDs and daylighting control. A seminar theatre seating approximately 70 people will be built on the exhibition floor and will be promoted by Mondiale Publishing as well as specifically targeted at RIBA member architects. There will be approximately 14 seminars over the two days and all seminars will be free to attend.

Joni Tyler, Head of CDP, commented: "RIBA is pleased to be working with Mondiale Publishing on this event. We are delighted to be able to highlight the many excellent lighting CPD seminars from our member companies and to be able to bring their technologically innovative work to a wider audience."

LIF forums

In addition to the RIBA approved CDP seminars, the LIF (Lighting Industry Federation) will also be holding a two-day forum. Concentrating on LEDs and DALI control, the format for each will be similar, if not the same: four 75 minute sessions covering the capability of the technology, the embodiment, maintenance/installation and application. All presentations will be company neutral and as a result the forums will be eligible for RIBA approved CPD. The forums will take place at the meeting rooms of the Business Design Centre, upstairs from the show itself.

The show, seminars and forum will be promoted through major UK and international publications for the lighting, architectural, interior design, hospitality and leisure markets, with the aim of attracting an audience unique to ARC 05.

Mondiale Publishing, organisers of ARC 05, already has experience in organising a trade show. 'bar' is an enormously successful event held every June.
Martin Mochan, ARC 05 show director, stated: "The bar exhibition is the only show dedicated to the UK bar industry and has quickly established itself as a must-attend event. We intend to give ARC 05 the same success."
