The Lamp Company are Shaken, Not Stirred
The Lamp Company has supplied a variety of lamps for use at the Imperial War Museum, for a major exhibition entitled ‘For Your Eyes Only; Ian Fleming and James Bond'. Celebrating the centenary of Ian Fleming's birth, the exhibition is devoted to the life and work of the man who created the world's most famous secret agent, James Bond.

The Philips Masterline energy savers, 45w MR111, 45w Capsule and 30w AR111 lamps were specified by Andy Grant, managing director of Luminance Lighting Design in London. Andy, who is responsible for high profile lighting projects worldwide, commented "We always receive an excellent service from The Lamp Company, with fast delivery and competitive pricing on even the most unusual light sources".

Featuring fascinating material, much on public display for the first time, For Your Eyes Only is open to the public until 1st March 2009 and looks at the author and his fictional character in their historical context. On display will be a wealth of rare material, from Fleming's desk and chair from his Jamaican home Goldeneye, where he wrote all of the Bond to the Colt Python .357 Magnum revolver presented to Fleming by the Colt company in 1964. Other items in the huge exhibition include a working model of an Aston Martin DB5 made for HRH Prince Andrew in 1966, complete with gadgets from the films Thunderball and Goldfinger and, for the fashionista, the ‘blood-splattered' shirt worn by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale and Halle Berry's bikini from Die Another Day.

The Lamp Company prides itself on providing a fast response and being able to source just about any light source that is required. Stocking over 7,000 lines of lamps at any one time, with a minimum stock holding of around 1,065,000 lamps, The Lamp Company is able to cater for every size of project with very short lead times. Customers also benefit from a range of added value services, including the company's ‘cost of ownership' program, which allows quick calculations on payback, comparing the use of different lamps and taking into account whole life costs rather than just the cost of the lamp.
