German Brewery uses High Protection Lighting

German Brewery uses High Protection Lighting
One of the largest breweries in Germany, the Hasseroder brewery in the picturesque Harz Mountains, has recently had its entire lighting system updated.

Rialto luminaires from Pracht, supported in the UK by Sill Lighting were specified for their easy maintenance and their IP65 protection rating making them dustproof and jetproof.

As in other parts of the food industry, it is important to have this high level of protection to maintain lighting efficiency and also to prevent any contaminants from the luminaries falling into production areas. With the brewery using large volumes of water, there is also a high level of humidity in the environment.

The Rialto single and twin lamp fittings have fully enclosed bodies made from fibreglass reinforced polyester, almost fully resistant to acids and alkalis. The fluorescent tubes and narrow beam specular reflector system are fully enclosed in acrylic glass or impact resistant polycarbonate. These reflectors are adjustable through 80° for the correct light distribution and the luminaires have 81% lumen efficiency.

As with other Pracht luminaires, the Rialto fittings are easily fitted by electrical contractors. They can be quickly fitted by one person using the Pracht clip system and its variable mounting points, and lamp changing is a single handed operation with two slot plug-in sockets.
The Rialto luminaires are designed for T8 lamps and are available as either single or twin 18W, 36W or 58W fittings. They are made to a high specification with silicone seals and silver plated contacts for durability and long life.
