The Actulite Polarised Natural Lighting System from the Aura Corporation has been specified for Cinch Connectors' new 40,000 sq ft assembly area at its aerospace facility in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.Darren Everitt, project and maintenance manager at Cinch had specific requirements for the lighting plan, "Due to the nature of this production facility there are strict lighting regulations, and it is vital that those working in the assembly area have the benefit of the best possible lighting. The new assembly area is an extensive modern open plan building with few windows, and so we wanted a close representation of natural light with no glare or shadows."
The Actulite polarised lighting emits a quality of light virtually identical to that of natural daylight. This is achieved through the combined use of the patented Actulite multi-layered light polarising panel, high frequency control gear and specially manufactured triphosphor full spectrum fluorescent tubes. Following a trial use of the luminaires in an office suite, Cinch employees were asked to evaluate the lighting and comment on its suitability. The trial was so successful that Cinch placed an order for over 450 luminaires.
On selecting Actulite, Darren Everitt commented, "We were very impressed with the quality of lighting which is very close to natural daylight. The Aura Corp. was extremely helpful in drawing up plans and giving general advice on layout designs, dedicating a lot of time to the project."
In total the Aura Corp. supplied 450 Actulite ADLR 1264 HF recessed polarised luminaires and 24 Actulite Signature ADSIG 436 HF surface mounted luminaires, emitting an even spread of glare free natural light equivalent with perfect colour rendition.
Cinch Connectors was so impressed with the end result that it has decided to also install Actulite task lighting on the benches in the assembly area. "The lighting is superb, achieving a brightness that is very close to natural light. All our staff are pleased with the lighting and we have had not one complaint!" added Darren Everitt.
