Universal Fibre Optics have supplied a fibre optic lighting system to give a star field effect to a swimming pool floor at a private residence in Dublin, Ireland.The system uses 70 tails of 2mm active diameter polymer fibre in a protective sheath to feed UFO P4 stainless steel paver fittings adapted to take 2mm fibre. The fibre optic tails were up to 22m long. These fittings are 14mm diameter with a glass lens.
The light is provided by two 150W metal halide light sources mounted in weatherproof enclosures to give white light. The lighting for this project was designed by Chimera Lighting Design Consultants of Wexford, Ireland.
