Based on its strong experience of the retail industry, Whitecroft Lighting has just opened a new area dedicated to Retail Lighting called the Retail Zone, located in its Manchester headquarters. Following the success of its Healthcare and Education Application Centres, Whitecroft has decided to invest significantly in a retail area to demonstrate the important role lighting plays in the shopping experience.
Because lighting a department store is different from lighting the high street branch of a building society, Whitecroft has created three distinctive areas: a financial space recreating the layout of a bank, a fashion shop and a supermarket area with shelves and displays. This flexible facility will show retailers the various solutions that Whitecroft can offer in terms of design, style, illuminance, aesthetics and colour.
"Retailers' needs and expectations can be radically different depending on their market and brand positioning. That's why at Whitecroft, we encourage our customers to meet us and discover our various standard and bespoke solutions", explains Ian Loader, Whitecroft's Retail Divisional Director. "We believe that lighting can positively influence the shopping experience and improve a brand image. The right lighting will create an attractive environment for customers, with ease of navigation and correctly illuminated merchandise that together, can generate greater sales", Ian continues.
Thanks to this new Retail Zone, Whitecroft's customers will be able to experiment with different lighting approaches. This allows a precise and accurate replication of the lit environment envisaged for future store "roll outs".
With the substantial increase in energy costs over the last two years, Whitecroft have set out to demonstrate to the retailer, the benefits of innovative lighting that can deliver to them greater efficiency and operational economy. Whitecroft has a number of new and exciting product initiatives that are being launched to coincide with their showcasing in the Retail Zone.
