Over 50 metres of Intralux Kove T5 ColorMix supplied by the Light Projects Group is creating an innovative and exciting lighting feature at the newly refurbished Wembley Arena. The lighting system is used throughout the second floor bar and restaurant areas and also for illuminating the rear wall and the glazed front elevation of the building.Manufactured by the Australian company Intralux, and exclusively available in the UK from Light Projects Group, Kove ColorMix is specifically designed to create indirect, shadow free, colour changing illumination. It uses the latest T5 fluorescent lamp technology and DALI protocol to project nine preset RGB colours, including two shades of white, together with the option of an ever-changing (rainbow) effect.
Colin Roberts, Marketing Manager at Wembey Arena, comments "The illumination of the Arena has been an important aspect of the refurbishment of the building. The use of the Kove ColorMix product has really increased the visual impact of an already striking building and also allows us to use colour to compliment the events in the venue and enhance the customer experience."
The system was specified by Hilson Moran Partnership and supplied with high frequency dimmable DSI. This means that it can be controlled remotely to create preset lighting schemes or random colouring changing illumination. Intralux also supply a switch-plate which gives operators an easy way to change or fade spatial colour to suit a particular theme or create a special ambience.
