Simmtronic Lighting Control at Spinningfields

Simmtronic Lighting Control at Spinningfields
Simmtronic has supplied the fully addressable digital lighting control system for an impressive new corporate office building on Allied London's new Spinningfields development in Manchester. Built by Sir Robert McAlpine and due for completion in March 2006, 2 Hardman Street is an eight-storey building that offers 143,000 sq. ft. of office space and a basement car park.

M & E Contractor, NG Bailey, commissioned Simmtronic to provide a full lighting control system for the Cat A fit-out with switches at entrances to open office spaces, presence detection in toilets and corridor-hold functions on stairways and at lift lobbies. A multigang switch in the security control room incorporates LCDs that indicate which lights are on in the building.

The Guardian Media Group (Manchester Evening News) will be occupying several floors of this building and Simmtronic is preparing the lighting control scheme for the Cat B fit-out in conjunction with Merseyside consultants Ernest Griffiths & Son. Building on its backbone system, the lighting controls will be tailored to the requirements of the incoming tenant with features including presence detection, switching, AV interfaces and some upgrading for dimming functions.

Simmtronic is one of the country's leading manufacturers and suppliers of lighting control systems. It has completed more than 600 commercial projects, supplying future-proof, fully addressable lighting control systems for many of the UK's largest and most prestigious corporate developments. The Company has recently opened a regional office in Manchester to provide a 'local' service for its customers in the north. Equipped with a full CAD design capability this provides an operating base for sales, engineering and commissioning support in the region.
