Simmtronic has supplied the lighting controls for 30 Gresham Street - an impressive office development at the centre of the Square Mile in the City of London. The building has a two-storey glazed entrance and huge floor plates which together provide some 400,000 sq.ft. usable floor space. Additional features include a roof terrace and two basement car parking levels. For the Cat A fit out, Simmtronic provided a comprehensive lighting control backbone, using its proprietary SPECS3 digital technology, ready for formatting to the requirements of incoming tenants. The fully addressable switching scheme employed zonal switchplates and included automated emergency lighting testing in the core areas.
When the building was let, ISG InteriorExterior, a specialist provider of new build and refurbishment fit-out services was appointed to carry out the interior fit-out. Simmtronic was commissioned to supply the electrical contractor, T. Clarke Plc, with a tailored lighting control scheme for the Cat B fit-out of the whole building. Building on the backbone system it incorporated key functions appropriate to each area of this extensive office development. These included: presence detection, dimming, scene-setting, AV interfacing and sliding partition linking. For two dealer floors where DALI technology has been employed, Simmtronic was able to provide DALI-compatible lighting control modules from within its proprietary SPECS3 digital product ranges.
