PLM's colour-changing LED system has been housed and situated in the latest development area at The Merry Hill Shopping Centre in the West Midlands.To the delight of shoppers of the centre and customers of the public house situated in the centre, this outdoor external feature is certainly causing a stir and lighting up even the darkest of late night shopping!
Vibrantly mixing modern LED technology with glass, this feature encapsulates the style and modernity of the development of the centre. One shopper says "the kids, love it, it's big, bright and colourful and it certainly brightens up my journey to work in the centre every day!"
The internal illumination is provided by over 800 1watt high power LEDs. By combining red, green and blue lamps with 45 degree lenses PLM were able to effectively produce sequences of illumination with all the colours of the rainbow. Control is provided by a one KVA power supply and a custom made 72 channel programmable control system designed and manufactured by PLM.
The concept of the pyramid itself cam from local artists and pays a homage to Brierley Hills' nearby Glass Quarter.
