Whitecroft Lighting has supplied a package of luminaires, including direct/indirect Vector fittings and Mirage downlighters, to the recently refurbished 121-141 Westbourne Terrace office block.121-141 Westbourne Terrace is a five-story grade two listed, mixed tenant building close to Paddington station in west London. The spaces provide a combination of large open plan, small open plan and cellular offices and were originally lit using standard recessed modular fluorescent luminaires and low voltage downlighters.
The project was undertaken with the client in residence which required a demanding and critical programme. Working closely with both the contractor and the consulting engineer Whitecroft devised a programme of phased deliveries which enabled the programme to be met.
The new design, using Whitecroft's versatile Vector luminaires, combines low cost of ownership with a bright and cheerful ambience. These are deployed as either stand-alone luminaires or continuous runs, to suit each space. The Vector luminaires are fitted with 1 x 54W T5 linear fluorescent lamp, providing 70% downlight and 30% uplight to the ceiling.
