Fagerhult Lighting, a leading lighting manufacturer, are holding a competition to design their entry in an art exhibition with a difference, the canvas is a life-sized fibreglass cow! As part of their association with the world's largest public art exhibition, CowParade, Fagerhult are inviting architects, lighting designers, engineers and artists to milk their imagination and come up with fun and funky designs for this amazing grazer.David Francis, MD of Fagerhult UK, said "As a company we are proud of both our dedication to the environment and contemporary design. The CowParade is a perfect way for us to support artistic development in a unique environment so closely linked to nature."
The winning designer will have their work brought to life by a contract artist who will also apply lighting, with the finished masterpiece being put to graze in the Fagerhult light studio before joining the rest of the herd at the CowParade in Edinburgh April 2006. With previous parade entrants including Lord Richard Rogers, Sir Norman Foster and Will Alsop, the quality of the event speaks for itself.
