A Compact Solution from Whitecroft Lighting
Whitecroft Lighting has supplied around 10,000 special compact fluorescent luminaires for use in offices at 30 Gresham Street in the City of London. Working closely with consulting engineers, Faber Maunsell, Whitecroft developed a bespoke luminaire to resolve issues of high volume air handling by designing a bypass system to reduce installed building costs. The Luminaries were installed by Emcor Drake & Scull.

Situated opposite the Guildhall, 30 Gresham Street is one of the biggest speculative developments in the City of London in recent times. Developed by Land Securities, the £97m, 10 storey building provides 36,000m2 of office accommodation on the lower ground, ground and eight upper floors, with parking at basement and basement mezzanine levels. The second and third floors have been designed to cater for financial/commodity dealing. The office space is planned around a central core, which links directly to double height reception areas at the Gresham Street and Trump Street entrances. There are also three retail units at ground floor level.
