Unlimited Light is sister company to Universal Fibre Optics, the largest fibre optic lighting company in the UK and only British company drawing the raw glass fibre used to make fibre optic lighting cable. While UFO specialises in bespoke systems for larger commercial projects, Unlimited Light manufactures a large range of DIY fibre optic kits, primarily aimed at the domestic market.

The kits are manufactured using both glass and plastic fibre, depending on the application, but all tails / cables are properly factory terminated at both ends , randomised, glued and highly polished, to achieve maximum and even light output. Unlimited Light chooses not to supply kits where the installer has to cut the polymer fibre optic cable and bundle the tails together in the lightsource as a great amount of the light output is sacrificed and without a ferrule termination on the ends of the tails, a fitting cannot easily be applied and the scallops or pools of light are irregular.

The Unlimited Light kits were developped as a direct result of the increasing demand for fibre optics from the domestic market at Universal Fibre Optics, primarily for colourchanging downlights in bathrooms and bedrooms, floor lights, staircase lighting, star ceilings and deck and patio lighting. By standardising the fibre optic systems, manufacturing them in large quantities and hence reducing costs, more people can now enjoy their therapeutic properties in their own home.
