Worldwide war on rising energy costs fuels EX-OR's export drive

Worldwide war on rising energy costs fuels EX-OR's export drive
Lighting management leader Ex-Or Ltd has seen a huge increase in sales of its energy saving products and systems around the world as energy costs continue to soar.

The company has enjoyed a 20 per cent year-on-year sales growth over the past three years, largely fuelled by an increase in its overseas sales. Building on its well established presence in Europe, it now has a significant export trade with Scandinavia, Australia, India, and the Middle and Far East.

Its controls and systems are installed in many more countries, too, as it supplies its lighting management equipment on an OEM basis to many of the international lighting industry's most prestigious names.

Said Ex-Or managing director Neil Jones: "Exports now account for more than 20 per cent of our business and the increase in our overseas activity has contributed to our doubling of turnover over the past three years.

We predict exports will account for 30 per cent of our business by the end of this year as overseas customers continue to recognise that effective and automatic lighting management is an ideal way of curbing ever-rising energy costs."

Recently completed Ex-Or overseas contracts have included:
  • Ex-Or MLS Managed Lighting System controls have been installed throughout the landmark Microsoft HQ building in Bangalore, India by Wipro Lighting, India's largest lighting manufacturer, who are sole Indian agents for Ex-Or.
  • The installation of Ex-Or lighting management systems in the Malta Bank of Valetta.
  • An office building in South Melbourne, Australia, has received the first 6 Star Green Star rating, the highest rating yet to be awarded to a building refurbishment under the Australian Government's environmental rating scheme. This follows the installation of the Ex-Or MLS Digital Managed Lighting System by ECS Energy Conservation Systems Pty Ltd, Ex-Or's exclusive distributors in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Ex-Or lighting management systems have been installed in a large number of prestige buildings in Dubai, including the Al Rostamani Tower and the Awqaf Building by Ex-Or sales agents TECON Ltd.
  • The installation of Ex-Or lighting management systems in Customs stations throughout Norway and Sweden.
Ex-Or recently made a £300,000 investment in its state-of-the-art surface-mount electronics manufacturing plant at its Haydock base to help meet rising overseas demand for its products.
