Martech UK Ltd, the commercial lighting manufacturer has announced the appointment of Craig Marney as Managing Director, taking over from his father Derek Marney who founded the company 15 years ago. Since its formation the business has grown both organically and through a series of acquisitions, and now employs over 60 full time staff at its 35,000 sq ft purpose built production facility in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.Craig has been with the company for over 12 years in various roles including Sales Director and more recently as Director of Operations. Commenting on the promotion he said "This is an exciting time for Martech, and I relish the challenge driving the business to continued growth and success". His remit will include increasing sales and market share, and implementing a structure for future growth that will see company re-positioned as an industry-leading organisation in terms of design, manufacturing and customer focus.
Derek Marney, although withdrawing from day to day operations, will still reside with the group in the role of Group Chairman.
The re-structure also sees promotion for Andy Smith to the position of Group Sales Director. Smith was formerly Sales Director for Gamma Illumination, one of the group's branded sales division.
