Such was the success of the Bright Ideas seminar held in October this year, TridonicAtco have been asked by luminaire manufacturers, consultants and end users to repeat the seminar next year. The function was extremely well attended and included contributions from Dr Stefan Tasch of Tridonic optoelectronics on the fundamentals of chip design, COB and colour, Dr Christian Hochfilzer from Tridonic on the use of LED's and Chris Mesnager from Lexidis, a partnership between TridonicAtco and Toyoda Gosei, on the fusion of lighting competences: Tridonic and Toyoda Gosei. The afternoon session was devoted to dimming, with Jochen Maier, product manager of dimmable ballasts, giving an overview of the new generation of intelligent, dimmable, low profile ballasts just 21mm in height. Stewart Langdown, a familiar face in the UK lighting industry and expert on all things DALI, gave an overview on the benefits of IP controlled lighting management and the introduction of DALI emergency, which is set to revolutionise the way in which emergency lighting is tested and monitored. Lastly, Gary Bark of Plexus Technology Limited gave a presentation on 'the future of building control systems'. The seminars were accompanied by an exhibition area where delegates could view the products.
