Germany's largest luminaire manufacturer TRILUX revs up its involvement with the Deutsche Tourenwagen-Masters (DTM: German touring car racing series): Ralf Schumacher has been engaged to drive the Mercedes C-Klasse as part of Team TRILUX AMG Mercedes and will thus make his DTM debut for the 2008 season. "This racing series is a good platform for boosting the visibility of the TRILUX brand – when it comes to technology and emotions we have synergy", says Michael Huber, General Manager of the family-run luminaire manufacturer from Arnsberg, Germany, while explaining Trilux's sponsoring activities. High-tech and precision as well as passion and enthusiasm go hand-in-hand when it comes to motor sports and creating lighting solutions. As a result, Trilux continues its motor sports sponsoring activities with Team TRILUX AMG Mercedes.Technical Innovations as Common Driving Force
Trilux's decision to throw its hat in the DTM ring last year was an important communicative step, next to re-positioning the brand and re-launching its web site. After the absolutely positive response to last year's involvement, the fascination with DTM will help Trilux to further increase its publicity and emotional charge in 2008 as well. According to Michael Huber the sponsoring activities should further solidify and expand the market position of Germany's largest luminaire manufacturer. The partnership with Mercedes proved to be a stroke of good luck during the past season – the black Mercedes C-Klasse with Trilux's striking design enriched the starting field. Michael Huber adds: "With Ralf Schumacher behind the wheel, another professional building block has been incorporated in this successful collaboration." Trilux's philosophy is a perfect match for DTM. "Our luminaires are constantly subject to the nonstop drive of further technological development and innovative designs – the same is true for DTM", Huber explains "In a similar fashion, light evokes specific reactions and emotions in people."
Exciting Anticipation on Both Sides
The commitment with the former Formula 1 driver has been a stroke of luck for Team TRILUX AMG Mercedes. "Ralf Schumacher will be a figurehead for the entire racing series during the upcoming DTM season and will serve as a crowd puller and a sensation on the racetrack", Huber says. His ten-years of experience in driving Formula 1 will definitely be a contributing factor. And Ralf Schumacher is already looking forward to the DTM season: "I enjoy the series, I like the environment, and I like the enthusiastic and positive viewers."
